The EVS XT[2]+ is the new video production server from the XT series that offers more bandwidth and greater capabilities to broadcasters across the globe. It allows broadcasters to record, control, and play media easily, quickly, and intelligently.

This new production server incorporates the qualities and main features of the successful, field-proven XT[2] server that has been in the market for over 5 years now. The XT[2]+ has been designed to support all sorts of workflow, including live outside broadcast, near-live and studio productions.

The XT[2]+ offers “always on” loop recording and multi-channel ingest of audio and video content originating from any source. XT[2]+ is the ideal platform for an extensive range of live and near-live production applications including instant replay, live slow-motion, live editing, video delay and playout.

Comes with a full range of software and remote controllers, such as MulticamLSM, IPDirector, and Insio, the new server offers an even greater open architecture with extended support of formats and codecs for a better control of and a smoother integration with third-party systems.

Due to its powerful networking capabilities, the content is instantly available for live editing, playback, or transfer to third-party. The open architecture of the XT[2]+ also makes it easy to upgrade and expand the workflow in the future.

The XT[2]+ is also the first server to natively support Avid DNxHD, Apple ProRes 422 and ProRes 422 HQ, and Panasonic DVCPRO HD codecs. Because the XT[2]+ is designed and built in-house with EVS’ hardware and software, getting upgrades, maintenance, and support is as easy as picking up the phone.

When talking about the improvements made to XT[2]+ in comparison to XT[2] server, EVS has put in new SAS disk controller with maximum throughput capabilities in XT[2]+ production server. The XT[2]+ has boosted internal storage of up to 12 disks with compact 2.5” form factor; expandable storage with external 2RU arrays (up to 24 hot swap disks for a total of up to 84 disks); increased storage capacity (up to 20 TB per server) (400 hours HD @ 100 Mbps or 800 hours SD @ IMX50); extended bandwidth (30 % increase – from 11.5 HD streams in XT[2] to 15 in XT[2]+) as well as optimized for future codec support.
